A visit to the capital of Catalonia always goes well for us, Barcelona is a beautiful city on the Mediterranean with great food, a great bar/club scene, it’s laid back, and has plenty of culture to top it all off. Next time we go we plan on staying at the Hotel Omm a wonderful boutique located at Paseo de Gracia right in the heart of the city. Plenty of shopping and dining within walking distance, great style and decor, and a nice rooftop pool, with views of Gaudi’s Casa Mila, for when you need to relax. Sounds pretty extraordinary to us.

New York design firm Roman and Williams did an amazing design on the New York icon, the Royalton. Part industrial represented by the concrete and brass, part primitive with all the wood, leather, and furs, and all style. Everywhere you look theres some eye-candy to feast on wether it be a floor to ceiling cast iron fireplace or wood paneling that resembles bark in a strangely artistic manner. It’s also in a great midtown location, surrounded by plenty of restaurants, shopping and bars; but it even houses it’s own chic bar, Forty Four, for some drinks. Just be careful of the ninth floor which is, allegedly, haunted.

Good day mates! Today we’ve got a classic luxury hotel situated in a high-rise building in the center of Sydney, Australia. The Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney almost, not quite but almost, has an identity crisis. It’s really not what you’d expect from a classic luxury hotel especially when the rooms are contemporary and you open up your drapes and you’re looking down on Sydney from a dozen or so floors up. There are lots of on site and local activities including a spa treatment, winery tours, scuba diving, scuba diving, shopping, water skiing, the opera, the theatre, museums, casinos and more. Sounds like an adventure filled vacation down under.

Located in the Shiodome Media Tower in downtown Tokyo, the Park Hotel is right in the thick of the media center of Tokyo. Shiodome Media Tower, also known as the “city in the heart of the city”, is the Japanese equivalent of taking all the big Hollywood studios and putting them in one building. The hotel is just minutes away from popular shopping area, great restaurants, and the building also has it’s own subway station so you won’t have to worry about how you’ll get around. A modern hotel, in a modern city, for a modern man.

Anything with a title that reads “exclusive private island resort” will always get our attention, and it really does not get much more exclusive than this; North Island of Seychelles. North of Madagascar, North Island was acquired by an Eco-tourism company that is aiming to return it to it’s natural state, almost… Of course there are the eleven private villas as well. All the food is from the surrounding environment, the organic gardens, or freshly caught. We hear the staff is amazing with a Personal attendant for each villa, can you say freshly laundered and ironed clothes daily? So if you want to relax on a private island, and maybe do some diving with turtles North Island just might be what the doctor ordered.

San Francisco is home sweet home to The Swag Mag and sometimes we like to vacation in our city. There are lots of nice hotels here but we really like the hip feel and chic decor at The Clift Hotel. It’s an Ian Schrager joint, who owns spots like LA’s Mondrian and NY’s Paramount, so you know it’s gonna be trendy, filled with a young crowd that you either cove or love to hate. The hotels houses the famous Redwood Room for some drinks in a beautifully decorated room and if you want some eats Asia de Cuba, expect to drop a pretty penny, is on site as well. You may even run into us on your visit.

We generally like larger and louder hotels, we like to party, with a nice touch of design, but the Vorstadt 14 in Switzerland has our attention. This was originally a private residence built in the 15th century, that’s before there was an america folks, located in the old town of Zug. The hotel has 3 apartments Face, Brain, and Soul: Face is based on artistic design featuring changing exhibitions, Brain is a more modern business style suite fit for a CEO, and the exclusive Soul which looks to be a very tasteful and rustic take on minimalist design.

If you’ve never been to Istanbul it’s definitely a place you should venture to. It’s the ultimate modern metropolis with old world charm. The W Hotel in Istanbul does an excellent job of crossing Ottoman influence with modern decor. Amenities such as cabanas on your balcony, turkish bath influenced bathrooms, the ultra modern W Lounge, and it’s all smack-dab in the middle of Istanbul. Venture down to the Bosphorus for boat tour, Reina for a club experience that you’ll never forget, to old town istanbul for old-world mosques and palaces, and all the kebabs your body can handle. Bliss.

We love to travel and over the years Miami has certainly been good to us… As far as we can remember. Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely be spending our hard earned dollars at The Setai in South Beach. The Art Deco building is impressive; however, not as impressive as the asian influenced decor on the interior, with stylish yet modern rooms. Relax with your drink of choice at one of the three pools, each set at separate temperatures ranging from 75-95 degrees (so unnecessary, yet so necessary), or skip the pool and head to the beach to lay out on your private daybed overlooking the turquoise waters of South Beach.
