Jaim Telias is an industrial and interior designer that blows us away. We definitely need to utilize his skills when we redesign The Swag Mag offices. We’re feeling the Alè Lamp and could see it acting as the centerpiece of the whole new interior. Just look at it, it is pretty amazing; however, this is not a surprise from Mr. Telias. He has created many other memorable works and concepts… all of which could find a place in our new digs.
Oh, boy! We can’t wait for the Dunny Series 2011. They’re like Pokémon with street cred and you pretty much have to catch them all. The only problem is that each box contains a random Dunny from the corresponding series and each one has its own odds. Kidrobot knows what’s up… it makes getting all of them rather difficult but oh so addicting. We’re going to have to make room on our shelf ASAP.
Sometimes all you need to complete your room is light from a single source and a bare light bulb is a great solution. The Lokolo is one of the cooler ones we’ve seen in awhile. When it comes to simple lights its all in the detail. The bulb has a frosted cover with a clear portal. The eye catching element is for sure the red cloth cord that extend out of the fixture.
Kohler makes some really cool products that not only look nice but function well. If you purchased the Flipside 01 Handshower you know exactly what we are talking about. One of the best compliments to the Flipside is the Kohler DTV Prompt Digital Showering System. This slick piece of hardware allows you to accurately set the temperature of the water with ease. No more cold “wake-up” showers are well worth the investment.
Multitasking can drastically increase productivity, if done right. For example, working on your college paper while on Facebook probably isn’t going to work out well. On the other hand, turning that collection of magazines and/or books into a stool is on the right track and the Njustudio Hockenheim Stool kills two birds with one stone by doing just that. When you aren’t reading that five year old copy of Daily Digest, use it as an additional sitting space… WIN.
Say “Wii U” ten times fast. Yes, it sounds like a fire engine, but that sense of attention is warranted for Nintendo’s new console. The codename was the Nintendo Cafe, but the real name was recently unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) as Nintendo presented the Wii U. The video does it way more justice than we can, so please check that out (thanks IGN), but we will say it is damn impressive… and we want one… right now.
Davide Groppi Lighting is filled with cool ways to light up your space. The catalog focuses on simple, sleek, modern designs that is stunning to look at without overpowering the other elements of your room. Davide Groppi uses familiar elements with modern functionality. Like uses a bare bulb with a soft LED inside. Many of the other lights utilize simple geometries with light to eventuate the object as well as the fixture.
Western Digital is known for their outstanding tech products. From external hard drives to media players, they don’t take shortcuts on any of their stuff. This is even true for their networking systems like the Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit. Now, this isn’t the sexiest device we have ever seen but what it lacks in allure it makes up in performance. You see, the Livewire system easily allows you to extend the internet to every nook and cranny in your house. You can even hook up your TV without a hitch, which is making that overpriced cable bill look more foolish everyday…
CB2 does it again with an affordable yet stylish design fitting for any contemporary space. The Lubi is really two pieces of furniture in one. First, you have the Daybed which is perfect for a little siesta. Second, you have a double sized bed simply by putting the top cushion side by side with the base. So you will be ready even for those surprise guest that need a place to crash.
With summer just around the corner, you’re going to need stay cool. One of the coolest ways to stay cool is to use the Otto Fan designed by Carlo Borer. This device is more than a common fan though, it’s a piece of art. The African sapele, which is similar to mahogany, is durable and adds beauty to any room. Stay cool with a fan that looks cool… can’t get much cooler than that.
