Peanut Butter and Swelly

0613

2011

Well, last #MusicMonday we talked about Air Swell by Chiddy Bang and we mentioned their newest release, Peanut Butter and Swelly. Since then, we have listening to both pretty much non-stop so we figured we should officially post about PB&S. What to say… it’s 18 tracks of musically goodness that is definitely on par with the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich you have ever had. That’s saying a lot… we have had some damn good PB&J. Download it here.

Eye Contact

It’s time to get a little experimental… Gang Gang Dance is a New York based experimental music band and their beats are definitely unique. Known for their use of percussion and synthesized electronics , their newest release, Eye Contact, continues this tradition in new forms. If you’re in the mood for something different, go with GGD because we know you’re going to like it too.

inFAMOUS 2

With the release of inFAMOUS 2 today you can go back to Empire City and continue the mayhem you caused in the prequel. You still play as Cole MacGrath, a bike courier who obtained electricity-based superpowers after a package he was transporting exploded. As Cole you face moral decisions that sway your character one way or the other. Deciding on good or bad changes the gameplay by tweaking the environment and the affect you have on citizens in the city. As the video trailer points out, however, being a hero is optional.

Air Swell Mini-Mixtape

2011

We have been meaning to talk about these guys more ever since we featured Chiddy Bang: The Preview. They actually just released an even more recent mixtape called Peanut Butter and Swelly; however, we wanted to chat about Air Swell first. Featuring seven remixed and re-rapped tracks, this mini-mixtape is far from tiny in the entertainment category. Every track is worth a listen and we’re sure you’ll be replaying it over and over again. Download it here.

Everyone loves New York, right? Well, everyone who lives there thinks everyone else loves it at least… regardless of how you feel, The City Out My Window: 63 Views on New York should be in your library. Matteo Pericoli is the mastermind behind this awesome guide of the city. Like the title suggests, he presents 63 views of NYC; however, the cool part is that he hand draws all of them rather than taking a photograph. The result is an interesting look at some of the sites of the Big Apple.

Foreign Object

Tinie Tempah and DJ Whoo Kid just capped off a seriously good mixtape. Foreign Object, which is hosted by Russel Brand apparently, features the 22-year-old English rapper on a variety of popular tracks, plus a few originals like Til I’m Gone with Wiz Khalifa. Overall we’re pretty impressed, Mr. Tempah definitely is like Popeye on some spinach on this one…

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

0520

2011

The bottom line is that you should buy and play The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The critical acclaim for it is pretty obvious, especially when you see it on a site like Metacritic. The only issues that might come up are the technical requirements to play it on your machine. This game is a beast and rightfully so. We only want to see the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia (the protagonist and who you play as), kill monsters and destroy stuff in the highest resolution!

If you’re going to eat food, then you might as well eat like a man. What’s that? You don’t know how…? Don’t worry about it, we have got you covered! Esquire and Ryan D’Agostino have teamed up to bring you Eat Like a Man: The Only Cookbook a Man Will Ever Need. All you have to do is read the title to find out what’s it about. Get on it already and start eating like a man!

L.A. Noire

2011

Video Games just stepped into a higher echelon with the release of L.A. Noire. Coming from the company that has brought us the ability to perform senseless and chaotic violence in the Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar Games has gone in a little bit of a different direction with L.A. Noire. You’re on the other side of the fence and play as LAPD Detective, Cole Phelps. Throughout the game you’ll have to solve a variety of cases, each one more difficult and exciting than the last.

Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

2011

Here is a Monday morning fact, the Beastie Boys started as a hardcore punk band… good thing for us, they switched to hip-hop a few years later. With out their transformation, we wouldn’t have beloved hits like “Brass Monkey,” “Sabotage,” “Fight for Your Right” and “Intergalactic” – to name a few. We also wouldn’t have their newest release, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two which have 16 tracks, which have the potential to be the next “Ch-Check it Out.”
