From its first issue in April, 1970, the National Lampoon blazed like a comet, defining comedy as we know it today. To create Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead, former Lampoon illustrator Rick Meyerowitz selected the funniest material from the magazine and sought out the survivors of its first electrifying decade to gather their most revealing and outrageous stories. The result is a mind-boggling tour through the early days of an institution whose alumni left their fingerprints all over popular culture: Animal House, Caddyshack, Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters, SCTV, Spinal Tap, In Living Color, Ren & Stimpy, The Simpsons—even Sesame Street counts a few Lampooners among its ranks. Long before there was The Onion and Comedy Central news shows, there was the National Lampoon, setting the bar in comedy impossibly high.

If you haven’t heard, there is a new zombie survival game that has been causing some buzz in the video game industry. Dead Island takes place on, you guessed it, an island which is a hot tourist destination. The only problem is, their main attractions this year are flesh eating zombies. You play as a customized character who can level up and advance in a variety of skills. With a first person perspective, it’s a similar gameplay experience to Fallout, except mutants are replaced with the undead and your jumpsuit is traded for board shorts. Remember to wear sunscreen.

The last game in the Resistance trilogy starts now! For those of you who have not experienced the previous games, we highly recommend you check them out prior to playing Resistance 3; however, we know that may be difficult. The thing is that the story works a lot better when you go in order, plus the first two games are really good too. If you’re stubborn though, you could check out the story on Wikipedia, learn all about Joseph Capelli fighting the Chimera and dive into the third. We wouldn’t blame you that much… it’s pretty freaking epic.

Mick Rock’s photo career began with him sneaking his camera into rock shows; it ignited when he started shooting a practically unknown David Bowie in 1972 and then went on to document the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust. Since then Mick’s become a legend himself, shooting a who’s who of rock, punk, and pop icons and capturing the images of stars right as they became part of the pop firmament. Exposed collects 200 of his best photos across nearly 40 years, including unforgettable images of Syd Barrett, Lou Reed, Blondie, Queen, Iggy Pop, the Sex Pistols, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Killers, Lady Gaga, U2, and many more. Featuring a revealing introduction, narrative captions, and an illuminating foreword by playwright Tom Stoppard, Exposed is a gorgeous visual celebration for music fans.
